At that time, the coffee industry lacked options for cafes beyond large national roasters. Breaking new ground, Custom Coffees became the pioneering coffee roasting company outside of Melbourne, setting the stage for a revolution in artisanal coffee.
Initially established as a shop front in the bustling Bendigo CBD, our dedication to crafting exquisite wholesale roasted coffees resonated with the discerning palates of coffee lovers, leading to rapid growth in demand. As the demand for our premium quality, locally roasted coffee soared, the name Grata Gourmet Coffees transformed into Custom Coffees.
To accommodate our expanding operations and to better serve our valued customers, we relocated to our current state-of-the-art facility in Mayfair Park Estate, an industrial food precinct situated in East Bendigo. The rapid embrace and adoption of our locally roasted coffee showcased a cultural shift—an increasing appreciation and enjoyment of coffee as an recreational art form.
